2011 Annual Horse Show

Entry Fees: $6.00 per class for TVHA members/ $7.00 per class for Non-Members

Stakes classes- $10.00 per class/3D Barrels $20,

            Grounds Fees: $5.00 per horse, per weekend

            Stall Fee:         $10.00 per horse, per weekend.  $5 will be refunded after stall is cleaned with a board

                                     member’s approval.

            Camper Fees:  $20.00 per weekend for members and $25.00 per weekend for non-members

            Shavings WILL NOT be available.   

            $3.00  timer fee will be charged to all gymkhana horses.

Show Information:

1.  TVHA, Inc. and Delaware County Agricultural Society will not be held responsible for any loss or damage to, or injury to    any horse, rider or spectator or their equipment by any reason of attendance to and/or participation in this event.

2.  Current TVHA, Inc. rules apply (modeled after United States Equestrian Federation and AQHA rules.)  Any questions or disputes shall be referred preferably in writing, to the show committee and the judge whose decision shall be final.

3. Please pay when entering.  Exhibitors are responsible for all classes entered.  Please make checks payable to TVHA, Inc.  There will be a $20.00 check return fee.  You are required to pay for all classes unless you have a vet certificate or doctors’ note.  Secretary has the right to combine, cancel, or split any class as deemed necessary.

4. Any impolite or inhumane behavior will not be tolerated.  It will be an immediate elimination as deemed by the show committee and/or the Judge.  TVHA, Inc. Board members are on the grounds for any questions or concerns.

5.  Refreshments served all weekend by Tweedie Treats. 

6.  Age of rider is as of December 1, 2010.  Junior classes are 17 & under, 14-17, 13 & under as listed.  Walk/ trot or jog splits are 11-17, and 10 & under as listed.  Adult is 18 & over.

7.  No stallions are allowed in any Junior/rider/driver class.

8.  Correct riding apparel is required in all classes as per USEF and AQHA.  A.S.T.M. Safety helmets may be worn by any age rider or driver.  All riders/drivers 14 years old and younger must wear helmets as per NY State law.  (Please see Article X-12 of the updated TVHA Rule Book ).

9.  A negative 2010 or 2011 Coggins Test and a 2011 rabies certificate must be presented to the secretaries’ stand.  All out of state equines must have a 30-day health certificate.

10.  Warm up for the over fence classes MUST be done before the show starts EXCEPT for the walk/trot riders.

11.  Green Horse or Pony is in their first or second year of showing in that seat under any rider.

12.  Walk/ Trot or jog riders may not cross-enter in any class requiring canter or lope.  They may cross-enter into halter, showmanship, in hand or driving class. 

13. Open beginner rider/driver is anyone, any age in their first or second year of showing in that division.

14.  Trail classes will be held in a separate ring from approximately 11:00 to 3:00, under a separate judge.

15.  In hand Trail exhibitors may not cross enter their equine into any other Trail classes.

16.  Driving Horse in Hand exhibitors must show in breed appropriate headstall or open bridle.  Yearlings must be shown in halter.

17.  Removal of the bridle while an equine is hitched will be automatic elimination from the competition.

18.  Day end Championship points count on the equine/rider or driver combination.  A different rider/driver means a new number.  Exception: Drive and Ride day end points follow the equine’s number.  Ties will be broken by number of blues, reds…If a tie still exists, the western horsemanship/hunt seat equitation on the flat/reinsmanship/dash for cash, classes will be used.  Points will be tallied the same as TVHA year end awards.

19.  Discipline Rail requirements will be at the Secretary’s stand.

20.  Stakes classes will pay back 100% of the added money plus 85% of the entries at 35%, 25%, 20%, 15%, 5%.  Stakes class entrant  must ride in at least 2 other classes in that seat.

21.Musical Free Style will require you to provide your own tape or CD.  Make sure info on music states name and exactly what to play and tape is at starting place.  Three minute maximum time.  Any appropriate props are acceptable.

22.  Concours D’Elegance Class judged on best overall turnout in that class.

23.  Western Green Walk/jog Pleasure class open to any equine/rider combination.  Equine is not to show under saddle in any other class at this show.  May be shown by a rider who is not eligible for walk/jog.

24.  Walk only for the leadliners is meant to give leadliners a stepping stone to walk/jog.  No handlers will be in the ring.  Riders will be asked to walk, stop, reverse and back on their own. 

25. * Denotes non-TVHA pointed class.

26.  Several Fundraisers will be running all weekend.  More information to follow.

27.  Exhibitors will be given tickets for ribbons or $1.00.   refunds are to be made at the secretary stand.

29.  Please mark all tack changes on entry form.  All classes must be entered at least 2 classes ahead of time.

30.  3D Barrel Stake Entries must enter atleast one class other than the exhibition class.

31.  Jumper Class -timed class, spreads not to exceed 2’ (Jr) 3’ (Open)-  -course of at least 8 fences and 1 combination.

32.   Open Cross Rails is for any horse/rider that is not entered in ANY other jumping class.  This class is for those that      are not ready for straight rails and do not qualify for any other divisions.  This is a non-pointed class.
